Who we are
Dorsett Executive Transportation (“we”) is a chauffeur service in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, owned and operated by Timothy Dorsett. This policy explains what information we collect through https://ridedet.com, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Questions go to timothy@ridedet.com or (817) 559-0325.
Information we collect
Visiting the website. Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. It is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
Getting a quote. The pickup, drop-off, and stop addresses, pickup time, and trip options you enter are used to calculate the route and fare. Quotes that do not become bookings are not stored.
Booking a ride. We store the rider's name, phone number, email address, passenger count, flight number, trip notes, route, pickup time, fare, and trip options, including whether a pet is riding or a wheelchair accessible vehicle is needed. Accessibility needs are used only to arrange a suitable vehicle.
Payment. Card details are entered into a form provided by Stripe and go directly to Stripe. We never see or store the full card number or security code. We keep Stripe's references to the customer profile, saved card, and payments, and the card brand and last four digits shown in emails.
Agreeing to the booking terms. When you check the box accepting the booking terms, we record the time, your IP address, your browser type, whether your card issuer verified the payment, and a copy of the exact terms you accepted. This is a record of the agreement in case a charge is questioned.
Messages. We keep the booking emails we send you and any messages you send us.
How we use it
To quote, schedule, and complete your trip; to take the deposit and the balance; to charge fees you agreed to under the booking terms, such as a late cancellation or no-show; to contact you about your trip; to respond to questions and card disputes; and to meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to build marketing profiles. We do not send marketing email.
How Stripe handles your booking
Stripe, Inc. processes all payments. When you book:
Stripe creates a customer profile with your name, email address, and phone number. If you book again with the same email, the same profile is used, so your payments stay in one place.
Your card is saved to that profile. Under the booking terms, it may be charged for the balance at the end of the ride, extras such as tolls, wait time, and parking, and late cancellation or no-show fees. A saved card is removed when a request is declined, or when you ask us to remove it. Receipts come from Stripe.
Stripe's card form may collect information about your device and connection to detect fraud. Stripe uses information under its own privacy policy, at stripe.com/privacy, including where it acts independently, for example to meet financial regulations or prevent fraud.
Other service providers
Cloudflare hosts the website, stores booking records, protects the site from abuse, and delivers booking emails. Cloudflare keeps request logs for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Google Maps Platform provides address suggestions, routes, and maps. The addresses and trip time you enter are sent to Google, and the booking page loads Google's map script, which receives your IP address. Google uses information under its privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy.
Each provider processes information on our behalf, or under its own policy as described above, and only as needed to provide its service.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
The booking page loads Stripe's card form and Google's maps, which may use their own cookies or similar technologies, such as device information for fraud prevention, under their policies above. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to tell people from automated traffic.
When information is shared
Only with the service providers described above; with your card issuer and the card networks, through Stripe, if you dispute a charge, including the booking record and the terms you accepted; when required by law or to protect the safety of riders, the chauffeur, or others; or with a successor if the business is sold or transferred, under this policy.
How long we keep it
Booking, payment, and terms acceptance records are kept for up to seven years after the trip, for tax and accounting purposes and to respond to card disputes. Older records are deleted during periodic review, or sooner on request where the law allows. Requests that are declined are kept on the same basis, without a saved card.
Website request logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period. Information held by Stripe or Google is kept under their policies.
How we protect it
The website is served only over encrypted connections. Card numbers never reach our systems. Booking records are stored with our hosting provider and can be accessed only by the business, with password-protected accounts. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what we collect and who can see it.
Your choices
To see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to have your saved card removed, email timothy@ridedet.com or call (817) 559-0325. We will respond within 30 days. Some records, such as payments and the terms you accepted, are kept for the period above to meet legal obligations and resolve disputes, even after a deletion request.
You can book without creating an account, and you will not receive marketing messages.
Children
Online booking is for adults. The website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Minors may ride when a parent or guardian books the trip.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the updated version is posted here with a new date. Changes apply to information collected after the date shown.
